Arsenal set sights on Atletico Madrid attacker for January
Arsenal are reportedly preparing to chase a further Atletico Madrid attacker in the January transfer window, according to a report on justarsenal.com.
The Gunners' earlier attempt to sign Julian Alvarez fell through during the summer window, and the club is said to have continued monitoring the Argentine forward. Atletico Madrid, however, appear unwilling to sell Alvarez in January.
Following the stalled Alvarez pursuit, Arsenal’s attention has reportedly shifted towards Alex Baena. According to Team Talk, the club are interested in signing Baena before the season ends, and the player could be open to a move to the North London side.
Securing Baena would require convincing Atletico Madrid to approve his departure, with the Spanish club’s willingness to negotiate highlighted as a crucial factor in whether the interest progresses beyond initial stages.
