Editorial Policy

1. Purpose

Prematcher may publish football articles, news-based content, match previews, match reviews, league analysis, team analysis, data analysis, opinion and editorial content.

2. Original writing

Prematcher publishes original football articles written in Prematcher’s own wording, structure and analysis.

Prematcher may use public facts, official announcements, match data, press conferences, club statements, league updates and referenced reporting, but articles must be written in Prematcher’s own words, structure and analysis.

Prematcher does not copy:

• article wording;
• article structure;
• headlines;
• exclusive reporting;
• unique analysis;
• long quotes;
• images;
• graphics;
• charts;
• tables;
• paywalled content;
• subscriber-only content.

3. Sources

Prematcher uses reliable sources, preferably official or primary sources where possible, such as:

• club websites;
• league websites;
• football association statements;
• official match reports;
• official disciplinary notices;
• verified official social media accounts;
• press conferences;
• reputable newspapers, broadcasters or sports news outlets.

Where third-party reporting is used, Prematcher credits it clearly.

4. Source section

News, report-based and factual articles include a Sources section where appropriate.

Suggested format:

5. Rumours, reports and opinions

Prematcher clearly labels content as news, report, rumour, opinion, analysis, preview, review or editorial where relevant.

Rumours must not be presented as confirmed facts.

6. Accuracy and defamation

Prematcher takes care with claims about players, managers, referees, clubs, owners, agents, journalists, companies, leagues, associations and betting operators.

Prematcher does not accuse anyone of corruption, fraud, cheating, criminal conduct, match-fixing, illegal betting, doping, bribery, dishonesty, manipulation or misconduct unless officially confirmed, accurately sourced and carefully worded.

Use cautious wording such as:

• “reported by”;
• “according to”;
• “the club announced”;
• “the league confirmed”;
• “the report alleges”;
• “not independently confirmed”.

7. Betting-related content

Prematcher does not publish betting odds, betting predictions or betting-related articles.

Articles must not promise profit, guaranteed outcomes, safe bets, risk-free decisions or certain results.

8. Images

Prematcher uses only images, graphics or media that it owns, has licensed, has permission to use, or can otherwise lawfully use.

Prematcher does not copy third-party article images, match photos, screenshots, charts, graphics or tables without permission or a clear lawful basis.
